SoutH2 Corridor highlighted as a European Energy Highways

The European Commission proposed in December 2025 the European Grids Package and the Energy Highways Initiative – as announced by EC President von der Leyen in her 2025 State of the Union address on 10th September 2025 – to lower energy prices and to ensure security of supply as well as energy independence.

SoutH2 Corridor enters the 6th List of Projects of Common Interest (PCI)

November 28th, 2023 – The European Commission adopted today the 6th list of energy Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) and Projects of Mutual Interest (PMIs). The SoutH2 Corridor is shown as the “Hydrogen Corridor Italy – Austria – Germany”.
Political support for Southern Hydrogen Corridor

The Energy Ministries of Austria, Germany and Italy yesterday signed a joint letter of support for the development of a “Southern Hydrogen Corridor” in the European Union. The associated infrastructure projects will thus be supported in obtaining the status of a project of common interest (PCI).
