MENA countries can play a major role as a green hydrogen export region due to their potential for the production of clean hydrogen, existing gas infrastructure and the geographical proximity.
The study “Clean Hydrogen Deployment in the Europe-MENA Region from 2030 to 2050: A Technical and Socio-Economic Assessment” was published (March 2023) by Fraunhofer CINES in collaboration with Geostock and focuses on technical and socio-economic aspects for the development of a clean hydrogen market between the MENA region and Europe.
