The 5th Trilateral Working Group Meeting took place in Stuttgart on 7 March 2025, and was participated by representatives of the governments of Germany, Austria and Italy, and Switzerland as observer. The meeting focused on the next steps for the development of the SoutH2 Corridor from the perspective of TSOs, financiers, ministries and regulatory authorities.
The SoutH2 Corridor is a 3,300 km dedicated hydrogen pipeline corridor connecting North Africa, Italy, Austria, and Germany led by TSOs Snam, TAG, GCA and bayernets.
The main results of the trilateral working group meeting:
- The responsible ministries and public authorities of the SoutH2 Corridor as well as the TSOs (bayernets, GCA, TAG and Snam) are on track and highly committed to implement the SoutH2 Corridor.
- Progress was made on company and ministry level. All 4 individual TSO projects are progressing on technical studies.
- The participants of the trilateral meeting reached an agreement on key enabling factors for the successful realisation of the SoutH2 Corridor, such as a national legal framework regarding financing scheme, unbundling and certification as HTNOs.
